2011 Board of Directors Election and Annual General Meeting Dates Announcement

Ottawa, March 17, 2011 – The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) is pleased to announce the dates for the 2011 CIRA Board of Directors Election and Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The 2011 CIRA Board of Directors Election process commences May 12, 2011 with a call for nominations and concludes with online voting between September 21, 2011 and September 28, 2011. CIRA’s election process provides Canadians and CIRA Members an opportunity to take a leadership role in the development of the Internet of the future and to ensure .CA continues to be an accessible, secure and trusted Canadian resource. For 2011, CIRA Members will be electing four Board Members.

CIRA’s 2011 AGM will be held on September 20, 2011 in Vancouver, British Colombia. This year’s event will once again be combined with an Internet symposium, and will offer CIRA Members an opportunity to directly participate in the governance of Canada’s Internet domain, voice their opinions to CIRA’s management, learn from leading digital thinkers and network with other .CA domain name holders.

All CIRA Members will be notified by email to pre-register for the AGM and to participate in the Election.  Further details will be posted on CIRA’s website, www.cira.ca, as they become available.
