CIRA Announcement: Dates for the 2009 Board of Directors Election and Annual General Meeting

Ottawa, March 19, 2009 – The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) is pleased to announce the dates for the 2009 CIRA Board of Directors Election and Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The 2009 CIRA Board of Directors Election process commences May 14, 2009 with a call for nominations and concludes with online voting between September 23, 2009 and September 30, 2009. Voting in CIRA’s Board of Directors Election offers CIRA Members the opportunity to decide who will join the leaders of the dot-ca domain namespace. For 2009, CIRA Members will be electing four Board Members.

CIRA’s 2009 Annual General Meeting will be held on September 22, 2009 in Toronto, Ontario. The AGM offers CIRA Members an opportunity to directly participate in the governance of Canada’s Internet domain, voice their opinions to CIRA’s management, and network with other dot-ca domain name holders.

All CIRA Members will be notified by email to pre-register for the Annual General Meeting and to participate in the Election.

Further details about the Election and Annual General Meeting will be posted on CIRA’s website, www.cira.ca, as they become available.
