As we celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday, CIRA is looking ahead to the next 150. Help shape the future of the Canadian Internet by applying to be on CIRA’s board of directors.

As we celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday, it is time to look to the future. CIRA’s future is focused on an ambitious goal of building a better online Canada– one that will help foster Canada’s social, cultural and economic development and elevate our position in the global digital economy. With aspirations that large, it is important to have a board of directors that can guide us on our journey.

CIRA board members must represent the diverse pan-Canadian perspective. We need leaders that are tech-savvy, innovative, forward-looking, business thinkers, and who have a passion for Canada’s Internet. CIRA board members come from diverse professional backgrounds from across Canada, with unique perspectives to help ensure we are achieving our goal for all Canadians.

The Internet belongs to all of us, and impacts every aspect of our lives. At CIRA, we believe that Canadians have both the right to be informed about how the Internet develops, and a responsibility to act on it. Whether you use the Internet for work or play, you can influence the future development and direction of the Internet in Canada. Participating in CIRA’s governance is one way you can help build a better online Canada.

How to get involved

You can help influence the future of Canada’s Internet by applying to join CIRA’s board of directors. Applications for the board are accepted in two rounds: the nomination committee slate from May 30 to June 13, 2017 and the Member slate from July 27 to August 10, 2017.

If joining the board is not of interest, you can still get involved by showing support for nominees and voting.
