This new service helps secure students, teachers, and administration with a flexible and affordable layer of protection against ransomware, malware and other malicious content.

- CIRA’s D-Zone DNS Firewall is a cloud service that helps school boards block access to phishing sites and those distributing ransomware and other malware.
- In cases when malware finds its way into the network via a BYOD or physical means such as an infected USB stick, the DNS Firewall can block its command and control to stop it from executing. Standardized reports allow administrators to see problems so that they can quarantine infected devices.
- This firewall service extends to any device using the school network. This helps the Wild Rose School Division deliver network services beyond the administrative office and individual schools to give students a safe always-online experience. This includes completing homework while commuting on a Wi-Fi enabled school bus.
- The D-Zone DNS Firewall is designed for organizations inside Canada and is well peered/connected to the network infrastructure that schools use.
