OTTAWA, ON – March 3, 2022. CIRA’s 2022 board of directors election process launches today at 2 p.m. ET with a call for applications to join the nomination committee. The nomination committee’s role is to seek and select qualified candidates who represent a wide range of views and interests, for the nomination committee slate of CIRA's board of directors election.
Online voting for election candidates will begin at CIRA’s annual general meeting (AGM) on September 15, 2022, in Ottawa and will run until September 22, 2022. This year, CIRA members will elect four board members.
The board provides oversight and strategic direction to CIRA, playing a direct role in developing strategy and policy for the .CA domain and cybersecurity business lines. It also helps shape how CIRA gives back through the Community Investment Program.
CIRA is looking for Canadians who:
- understand the experiences of a diverse range of industry sectors
- have governance experience (mandatory)
- have experience identifying and selecting superior candidates
- are interested in supporting the development of the internet in Canada
The deadline to submit applications to join the nomination committee is 2 p.m. ET on March 17, 2022.
All CIRA members will be invited by email to participate in the various stages of the election process and to register to attend the AGM in September.
