Halifax Regional CAP (HRCAP) Association provided orientation, training, and support in the use of computers and mobile technology to adults who were looking to build their digital literacy skills. Using the existing HRCAP network and their long-running student internship program, this program was available to anyone within the Halifax Municipality who had fallen behind the curve of the digital divide.
The additional resources provided through CIRA contributed to the purchase of mobile technology to provide training in the Bridging the Gaps course, as well as funding for coordination support for the delivery of the program, increasing awareness through promotion, and hiring a student who helped develop and deliver mobile technology training sessions.
