Key dates and stages

CIRA’s election process happens in several stages, beginning with filling seats on the nomination committee in March and ending in an online vote in September. The entire election process is held online.

February 29- March 14, 2024 Apply to join the nomination committee
April 2023 New nomination committee members announced
June 4-June 18, 2024 Apply to join the board through the nomination committee slate
July 31, 2024 Nomination committee candidates announced
July 31-August 14, 2024 Apply to join the board through the member slate
August 28, 2024 Member nominees announced
August 28-September 11, 2024 Members endorse member nominees
September 18, 2024 Show of support results and final list of candidates announced
September 18-October 2, 2024 Campaign forum is live
September 25-October 2, 2024 Members vote to elect candidates (“Election Period”)
October 7, 2024 (or before) Election results announced

CIRA’s board directors are professionals from across Canada with diverse skills and experience needed to achieve a functional, high-performing and balanced board.

There are twelve directors elected by CIRA members and three non-voting advisors.
