THE PROJECT
CompuCorps is a high-tech charity that seeks to provide at-risk groups with career and life skills training focused on access to technology and the internet. With CIRA funding they developed a workshop series that helped 80 Indigenous women expand their skills in the Canadian e-commerce space, offering the tools they needed to start web-based businesses and access new self-employment opportunities.
COMMUNITY IMPACT
Volunteers led training designed with flexible timing and drop-in classes, reducing the barriers that often prevent Indigenous women and mothers from accessing digital skills training opportunities. Participants left the workshops armed with new skills and resources to build their businesses and participate in the digital economy.
