The Jewish Heritage Centre of Western Canada has conducted a large number of oral history projects over the past fifty years, one of the most valuable and unique collections in their holdings. This project involved revamping the JHC’s website to integrate digitized recordings into the new site design, providing a portal to access original sources of Jewish Canadian history and the voices of Holocaust survivors.

Making these recordings easily accessibly online has had tremendous emotional and personal impact on users of the website, allowing some to hear the voices of their deceased relatives for the first time. With this new infrastructure in place, it is easier to make future digitized material available to the public, preserving priceless Jewish Canadian history for future generations.
