CIRA’s nomination committee selects candidates for the board of directors election; Applications for the member slate now open

Ottawa, ON – July 21, 2022 – CIRA’s nomination committee has selected five candidates from across Canada with a broad mix of experience and qualifications necessary for the management of the .CA domain. Here are the candidates:

  • Colleen Arnold – Stillwater Lake, NS
  • Don Bowman – Waterloo, ON
  • Jimmy Mui – Stittsville, ON
  • Oscar Roque – Woodbridge, ON
  • Michael Zahra – Richmond Hill, ON

CIRA was pleased by the extraordinary interest in this year’s election cycle. The nomination committee received dozens of applications from highly qualified candidates across the country. Learn more about the nomination committee candidates here.

Call for member slate nominations

Now, CIRA is looking for applications to the member slate on the board of directors. Qualified CIRA members interested in joining the board can apply for the member slate of candidates from 2 p.m. ET on July 21, 2022 to 2 p.m. ET on August 4, 2022 at

This will be followed by a Show of Support period starting August 18, 2022, and ending on September 1, 2022. Member nominees must receive at least 20 shows of support from members to become a final candidate in the board of directors election. The board of directors election vote runs from September 15, 2022 until September 22, 2022.

Voting for CIRA board directors

To be eligible to vote, .CA domain holders must be CIRA members before the end of the day on August 25, 2022 (21 days before the start of the voting period), and remain an active member at the time they cast their vote.
