If you can measure it, you can manage it!

Data helps you assess broadband service levels in your community before and after internet infrastructure improvements.

Why join the program

Joining our community broadband performance testing program will provide you with access to valuable crowd-sourced data on the health of internet connections in your area. Plus, you’ll receive support and provide guidance on how to best leverage all that information!

Any complex customization required by a community or region is done on a cost-recovery basis—giving you not only get the world’s most advanced test but also tremendous value.

Is there a cost to become a partner?

The cost depends on a few different elements, such as the expected traffic to the testing nodes, the size of your region and the outreach plans you have to build test volume. We also consider the type of project. As part of CIRA’s Net Good program, we are dedicated to building a better online Canada—for that reason, the cost will be roughly $250 monthly, significantly less than standard infrastructure management costs. The cost will include all customization of the portal, maps and web address to your region.

How do I get started?

Joining the program is easy! Simply contact us at ipt@cira.ca expressing your interest and we’ll be in touch with a more detailed overview, share experiences of other communities and get you set up.
