This project involved case studies of the use of technology in Aboriginal schools in four different geographical locations in Canada, representing four distinct cultural groups (Ojibway, Algonquin, Inuit, and Iroquois).
Both quantitative and qualitative data was gathered from online surveys and interviews of students, teachers, and administrators in each of the schools. The research questions for this case study were:
- How are the administrator, teacher, and the students using information and communication technology (ICT)?
- What are the advantages and disadvantages of using ICT in the class?
- What barriers exist in the process and support of laptop use in the schools?
