CIRA announces dates for the 2023 board of directors election and annual general meeting

OTTAWA, ON – March 2, 2023. CIRA’s 2023 board election process starts today at 2 p.m. (ET) with a call for applications to join the nomination committee. The nomination committee’s role is to evaluate applicants and select qualified candidates for the nomination committee slate. This slate will appear on the final election ballot, to be voted on by CIRA members.

Online voting for election candidates will begin at CIRA’s annual general meeting (AGM) on September 27, 2023. Members will have until October 4, 2023 to cast their vote to elect four board members.

CIRA is governed by a board of 12 elected directors and three board advisors who help advance CIRA’s development. They provide strategic direction and oversight to help more Canadians get online with a .CA domain, reinvest in the development of a trusted internet for Canadians, strengthen our non-.CA product offerings and be a leading-edge, inclusive workplace that attracts and maintains top talent.

The deadline to submit applications to join the nomination committee is 2 p.m. ET on March 16, 2023.

Information on key dates, the role of the committee, desired skills and experience needed and how to apply is available on CIRA’s election site.

CIRA members will be invited by email to vote and attend the AGM in September.
