The role of the Nomination Committee
The role of the nomination committee is to seek and select qualified and professional candidates to appear on the Nomination Committee slate of the final election ballot, to be voted on by CIRA Members.

- Enable CIRA to achieve its goals through balanced board representation and effective governance.
- Facilitate future committee process improvements by providing feedback to CIRA’s Governance committee.
- Support the development of the internet in Canada.
Who we're seeking and commitment required
We're looking for applicants who have experience in identifying and selecting superior candidates and understand the experiences of a diverse range of industry sectors. Knowledge of corporate governance is mandatory. Committee members are expected to:
- Serve two years and commit up to five days for candidate review and selection in June.
- Attend virtual committee meetings in April, May and July.
- Meet with the committee in-person in Ottawa in late June, 2026. Expenses for travel will be reimbursed.
